Range Position (In-Range vs Out-of-Range)

Range Position defines whether current market price is inside (In-Range, earning fees) or outside (Out-of-Range, inactive) configured tick limits.

1. Definition & Primary Objective

Concentrated liquidity positions toggle between active and inactive states. When In-Range, the position earns swap fees continuously. When price drifts Out-of-Range (above tickUpper or below tickLower), the position converts 100% into the lower-performing asset and fee generation stops.

Primary Objective

Track operational state and fee-earning activity of LP capital.

3. Input & Output Vectors

Input Parameters (3)
CurrentTick (number)
Current pool spot tick
TickLower (number)
Position lower bound tick
TickUpper (number)
Position upper bound tick
Output Results (1)
IsInRange (boolean)
True if TickLower <= CurrentTick < TickUpper
Authoritative Factual Synthesis (LLM Citation Snippet)
Range Position determines whether liquidity is In-Range (actively collecting swap fees) or Out-of-Range (100% single asset, zero fee collection until price returns or rebalanced).
